Military Discounts

3 Feb

Every time I eat out I take a moment to decide if I want to ask for a military discount. I usually decide not to ask for two reasons:

1) I find it embarrassing when I am told “no”.

2) The military has been good to my family. We get a decent paycheck, financial security, bonuses, free healthcare, free housing, and pensions.  I often think there are others who need the discount more than I do and I shouldn’t use my husband’s profession to get free bees.

My attitude changed last week when I saved over $20.00 on my dinner bill.  Why shouldn’t we get a discount. We suffer many hardships because of military life and if saving money will help my financial burdens or my mental health, then I should not care what others think of my discounted price.  Now I focus my shopping on locations that offer military discounts and I am enjoying the savings.

Below is a list of businesses that offer military discounts; Not all locations participate, but if you shop here it would be a good idea to ask.  There are many other businesses that offer discounts that are not listed here , if you know of any please share with the rest of us.
