Wacky Wednesday The Three Bears

10 Feb

Today is Wednesday and it is time to get “wacky” with the kids.  All week the kids have asked me “what we were going to do on Wacky Wednesday,” then interrupted themselves saying ” No, No surprise me!” Wacky Wednesdays are doing exactly what I had hoped, it is giving my children something to look forward to each week while their daddy is gone.

This week we read the story of The Three Bears then made the three bears using bread dough. I made the Wee little bear, my youngest son made the middle size bear, and my oldest daughter insisted on making the Big Bear.  We used dried fruit for the eyes, honey to add a bit of color (and sweetness), and cheese for the hair.  We had so much fun getting our hands dirty and decorating our three bears.  The bears were put in the oven and 30 minutes later we were able to enjoy a delicious snack of sweet tasting bread.

Our idea for The Three Bears bread came from Highlights for Children. These magazines are full of creative crafts for the whole family to enjoy.
